Use spacebar and WASD...

... To introduce heliocentrism to the world! The current belief is that the Earth sits at the centre of the world and everything in the cosmos revoles around her. How long will it take you to lead the scientists and philosophers of our world to successfully convince the public that the Sun sits at the centre?

Made with love (and a sprinkle of panic!) for Interstellar game jam 8.

Thursday - roughly 12 hours spent on a gameplay prototype, barely any polish.
Friday through sunday I was enjoying the beach with some friends <3
Monday - 8 hours spent on polish and sound design to finish it up.

Only CC0 assets were used. Contact me on discord if you want me to dig up one of the assets for you to use :b

I did not quite get to implement the reason for the sideways movement. It was intended that you dodge three lanes of attacks (timed areas) as well, but I ended up focusing on polishing everything else instead. It's just useful for some dodging maneuvers as it stands.

I found the cross-concentration keeping track of dodging the rotating spokes and highlighting the incoming bars to be quite engaging! And the theming /art was nice too!

Probably the best at fitting the theme with both a scientific revolution and the revolution of planets! Once I realised you had to hit space on the translucent shapes, it felt really good to play, though I doubt I'd have the skill for an extra obstacle like the planned lane attacks. Managed to bring my score from 1740 to 1584 though, so I'm pleased with that!

I would definitely have rebalanced the game around them. The current difficulty was mathed for what kind of obstacles currently exist hahaha. Adding on top would have made it way harder, I agree!
